Despite the fact that I write a web log, I am a engineering dimwit .
so, when I load pictures onto my calculator and…nothing happens…it ’ s a identical badly thing .
specially when I already selected the “ delete everything on the calling card ” option ( and that part worked…go visualize ).

do !
And particularly particularly when my very techno-savvy husband ’ s not around to bail me out .
then, the very fact that Try-it Tuesday flush exists today ( however belated ) might be one small tone for you technology-loving folks out there, but it ’ s a pretty elephantine leap for the aforesaid engineering dimwit ( me ) .
You might have noticed that, in most ( um, all ? ) of my tutorials, my fingernails are painted .
And, if you ’ ve been reading for a while, you know that ’ s not because I good love to sit around painting them but alternatively because I have actually severe fingernails, and I refuse to subject you guys to frequent viewings of them in their common cracked, peeling, and differently pathetic state .
well, nowadays ’ s Try-it Tuesday is no different than any early in that my fingernails are painted, but it is a bite unusual in two regards :
1 ) You might notice that my nails aren ’ thyroxine quite then nasty Mcnasty as common
2 ) This is a tutorial for painting fingernails ( which would make it kind of eldritch if they weren ’ t painted )
My common MO is to paint my ultra-short nails some funky color or early ( sometimes even 5 different colors ) because anything fancy good international relations and security network ’ thyroxine feasible .
french manicures, while pretty, don ’ thymine precisely look great when they have to fake the white region of your nail because it doesn ’ t naturally exist on its own .
however, by a glad combination of pregnancy, prenatal vitamins, and several manicures over the last calendar month and 1/2 ( more than I ’ five hundred had in the last class, for indisputable ), I ’ ve managed to achieve precisely the tiniest bite of smash respectability .
Yes, I know. That ’ s what most normal people have when they forget to clip their nails for a few days, but that is good for me, y ’ all .
so, in award of my barely showing white nail bits, I decided to come up with and you show a way to get a salon-quality french manicure without actually going to the salon .
here ’ s what you ’ ll necessitate .
{ obviously, my bottle of white has seen better days }

    • authorize basecoat/topcoat
    • polish color ( south ) of your choice
    • scotch tape ( I used double-sided because it was a little stickier )
    • Scissors

1. The solid concept behind this “ technique ” is the same as taping off a room to paint it. Tape produces cleaner lines. thus, I reasoned that the lapp could be true for manicures and began cutting fingernail-sized pieces of Scotch tape with slenderly rounded edges ( use the form of your nails as your template ) so I could “ tape off ” my nails to get a nice, clean french line for my manicure .
2. adjacent, I positioned by videotape pieces on top of my nails, doing the best I could to evenly space them from the tips.

3. Then—and this is the most authoritative part—I applied a level of clear basecoat to the tips, making certain to brush some over the tape edge equally well. This will seal your argumentation and keep any coloring material that you apply following from bleeding under the record edge .
{ All taped off and sealed with base coat }
4. future, I applied my french white to the tips .
…then a layer of foam, precisely for kicks…
5. I let it dry for a good 10 minutes ( while I pushed Della in the swing…yes, I photographed this integral tutorial at the park : ) ) .
6. then, I cautiously peeled off the record to reveal a surprisingly clean note .
{ It worked ! }
7. ultimately, I sealed the integral manicure with a layer of net, glossy greatcoat .
unfortunately, the glitter layer made it all a moment goopy for my tastes, and I was kind of curious to see how a solid color would do .
so, when I got home, I scrubbed off the glitter and, using all the lapp steps from above, dabbed on a hot coral nuance .
And you know what ? I think I like it even better !
now, if only I could figure out a direction to keep my nails long enough to actually do this more than once every six months !
